Leichtenauer's system of German Longsword is a principle driven system as opposed to being technique driven as other arts are.

 

 - Always maintain the initiative; if you lose it work to regain it.

 - Keep your opponent under constant threat.

 - Meet weakness with strength; meet strength with weakness.

 - "Q" about 'he who moves lives, he that stands still dies'.
